CHAPTER 2: Delta and Kevin

Studio City

Delta Chancellor-Royce, wearing black biker shorts, Reeboks, weightlifting gloves, and a sweatshirt with cut-off sleeves and midriff, muscled up her last rep on the weight machine, blowing the air out hard. She pulled herself up to a sitting position on the bench and wiped the sweat from her face with a towel hanging on the machine.

"Ye're just full of energy this morning," Kevin said, walking across the gymnasium with breakfast. He was clad only in cotton drawstring pants and huaraches. He set the tray on the mat and stood before his wife, who hugged him around the waist.

"What can I say? A night with you always fills me with energy in the morning." She kissed his muscular abdomen, then stood. "Let's eat, I'm famished--for food that is."

Kevin laughed with a blush and uncovered the tray, revealing omelets in lobster sauce. They sat down on the mat and started eating.

The phone rang, and Delta picked up the cordless beside her. "Yes?"

"It's Danielle. It's set. I have the reservations for the exclusive annual Italiano de Art auction to be held in Venice at the Palace of the Doges. You're actually going to buy ancient art?"

"Yeah," Delta said with a laugh. "I'm actually going to buy ancient art."

"Did you want in to the soiree they're holding after the auction?"

"Yes. It'd be incredibly bad manners to buy and run."

"Thought so. Got you reservations to that also."

"Danielle, you're a doll."

"That's why you pay me the big bucks. How're you getting down there?"

"Lars is flying us down. He's been wanting to try out Donovan Lewis' autonavigation system."

"Very well. Need anything else?"

"No, that'll be all. If something comes up, we'll take care of it down there."

"Okay. Enjoy yourselves. Goodbye."

"Thanks bunch, Dani. Bye bye." Delta hang up and did a victory gesture with an emphatic "yes!"

"I ken we'll be buyin' art," Kevin said as Delta returned to the breakfast.

"In style, My Love, in style."

Delta and Kevin finished breakfast and Kevin gathered up the dishes. "Meet ye in the bathroom," he said.

Delta kissed his shoulder, said, "hurry, dear Kevin." She went to the bathroom and started the water while Kevin took the dishes away. She took off her clothes and stepped into the water.

Kevin walked in naked and Delta smiled, feeling the heat build within her.

"Ye'll have to translate for me, Darlin', seeing as I don't know the language," he said, joining her.

"You could really freak everybody out by speaking Japanese," Delta replied. She soaped up the sponge and washed Kevin's back.

"You're really excited about the trip," he observed.

"Yes, I am. Aren't you?"

"I'm excited just being near you."

Delta jumped with a squeal and flicked water in Kevin's face. "You horny dog, you!"

Kevin smiled and kissed her throat. "Lookin' for anything special?"

"I don't know," Delta breathed, caressing her husband. "Maybe a Degas. Or a...mmmmm....Bellini...Oh!" Her breath came in quick gasps as Kevin caressed and kissed her exquisitely. "Maybe even a Botticelli..." She suddenly held Kevin at arms' length. "Kevin Kevin Kevin. You are being very naughty."

Kevin smiled, grasped Delta's hand and kissed the palm. Delta shivered and drew him to her.

"Show me that trick you did to me last night," she whispered.
